Bárbara Maçães Costa graduated in 2008 from the University of Porto Faculty of Architecture, and in 2013 from the University of Lisbon Faculty of Fine-Arts. She worked for three years as project architect for the landscape office Bureau Bas Smets, and briefly as a teaching assistant for the University of Lisbon. She is currently employed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne as a research assistant to Prof. Harry Gugger’s Laboratory Basel, as lecturer of the Teaching Unit U—Cartography, and as a PhD student. Fields of expertise include spatial representation, landscape theory, and environmental aesthetics.
